Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Connie Squire
My name is Pastor Constance (Connie) Squire. I was born and raised in assorted towns in northern New Jersey until 1990. I lived in Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania from 1990 until 2017 where I attended my home church, Dingmans Ferry United Methodist church until I was called to ministry and attended Drew Theological school.
While at Drew I was appointed as an Associate Pastor to both, Dingmans Ferry, PA and Barryville, NY, United Methodist churches. In 2017 upon graduating with my master’s in divinity degree I was appointed as a full-time senior pastor and Provisional Elder to Vernon United Methodist church. On July 1st, 2021 I was appointed here in beautiful Southampton, NJ as a full-time senior pastor and Provisional Elder to Vincentown United Methodist church.
I am married to Roy Van Der Sluys and have two sons, Dalton 31yrs old and Garrett 27yrs old. I have my Coon Hound/Golden Retriever mix 6-year-old dog, Gracie (Who you will see in and around the church).
My calling to ministry, incorporates hands-on mission work. I lead and attend Red Bird Mission camp for one week each summer in Beverly, Kentucky working on people’s homes and getting to know the residence of the area. It brings me great joy to help others whenever I can.
I also have a bachelor’s degree in social work and have been involved with an agency that counsels domestic violence and sexual assault victims both within the community as well as at the Pike County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania. My door is always open for conversation. I am a hands-on pastor who likes working with congregants and the community to help bring hope and the grace of God to the people around me.
I am blessed to be here in Vincentown having met and worked with generous and kind spiritual people of the church and community. I consider it a blessing from God for the opportunity to work with all of you sharing the Gospel of Jesus the Christ and making new disciples for Jesus Christ in the transformation of the world.
“11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. 13 When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart…” Jeremiah 29:11-15.
May God’s love, peace and grace be felt by you this and every day,
Pastor Connie Squire
